3.24.2008: RONIN 64 bit Compatibility Restored
Greetings folks!
I'm happy to say that RONIN is finally compatible again with
the 64 bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. There was
something with the compilation that needed to be resolved.
Simply get the latest version (1.7.1) from the
download page, uninstall, reinstall,
and you will bet set!.
12.27.2007: Special RONIN 1.6.1 Patch Available...
Greetings folks!
I'm happy to say things are finally rolling in the right direction again for RONIN. I have finished the update that will have RONIN point to the right update location for you to get the latest Tournament Card Registry updates.
I am in the process of rebuilding the installer to have the latest version of files, but in the meantime there is a patch available. To update RONIN, simply do the following:
- Exit RONIN if you are currently running it.
- Download the patch file from the downloads section of the Deck Studio forums from this link.
- Unzip this file into the folder of your choosing. There will be two files, ronin.exe and ronin.exe.config.
- Copy these files into your C:\Program Files\Empyre Group\RONIN folder. You can overwrite any existing files you are prompted about. If you are using Vista, you may be given the "security prompt" to approve the copy.
- Start RONIN and when prompted, go ahead and download the latest update. You may need to exit RONIN and restart it in order for the newer card sets to be displayed.
Notes:
If the manual update process has been working for you, you will not be prompted to download the latest TCR. The current version is the 20071207 release that was put out a week or so ago. It was reported at one point in time that a "database incompatibility" error was being displayed when updating the TCR manually. If you do run into this error, uninstall RONIN, download the 1.5 version available on the website (http://www.roninpro.com), install RONIN, and then reapply the patch. This should clear things up. I did a fresh download and patch on my Vista machine to verify things. I do apologize for such a lengthy downtime for RONIN and appreciate your patience. It has been a whole lot of work for me to process. This is a sign of good things to come. I'm really making a push to make 2008 a signature year for RONIN and Deck Studio, so this is just getting the ball rolling. As always, let me know if you have any comments, issues, or suggestions. :: Dillie-O ::
